Art Group

Service Description

A New Jersey Certified Teacher and/or Certified Teacher of the Handicapped who has a background in teaching art will provide opportunities to address cognitive, social and tactile exploration though art using various mediums, including drawing, acrylics, watercolor, clay, canvas, wood, etc. Instruction is tailored to each individual’s needs within a small group setting. Cognitively, executive functioning skills, including planning, sequencing, flexibility, and working memory are creatively addressed. Socially, the individuals get an opportunity to interact and share with others who experience similar difficulties. The use of various mediums makes this group a rich multi-sensory experience.
