Individual Services
Our classes teach a variety of skills while providing opportunities for creativity, growth, and independence. Our staff is highly trained and qualified to work with the general public as well as the special needs population.
Advance Life Skills Training
This service is provided by a professional such as those in the following areas: New Jersey Certified Teacher, New Jersey Teacher of the Handicapped, Certified Bran Injury Specialist or Social Worker. This service takes place in the office, home, school, and /or workplace as needed.
Art & Jewelry Making
A New Jersey Certified Teacher and/or Certified Teacher of the Handicapped who has a background in teaching art will provide opportunities to address cognitive, social and tactile exploration though art using various mediums, including drawing, acrylics, watercolor, clay, canvas, wood, etc.
Assistive Technology Evaluation & Training
A RESNA certified professional is qualified to assess the client’s needs in terms of assistive technology devices and/or services. The device and/or service will assist the client in achieving greater independence and self-sufficiency in daily life, school and/or employment.
Brain Games
This service is provided by an Educational Specialist or a Certified Brain Injury Specialist. Services include the acquisition and application of compensatory memory and organization strategies as well as focus on the following skill areas: executive functions, processing skills, perception and discrimination, memory functions, working memory, higher order thinking skills, problem solving, processing speed and attention and concentration.
Cooking
We offer individual classes for beginners through intermediate abilities. Classes include planning, meal preparation, cooking and clean up. The amount of instruction and hands-on guidance is dependent on the individuals' abilities. All instruction has an emphasis on safety and well being and is geared towards increasing culinary independence. Healthy meal planning and dietary restrictions are addressed as needed.
Dance and Choreography
Individualized dance and choreography classes taught by a professional certified dance instructor. Classes aim to enhance creativity, and self expression while improving flexibility, mobility, strength, balance, coordination, motor skills, memory and self confidence.
Education and Tutoring Services
An Educational Specialist who possesses a New Jersey Teacher of the Handicapped and/or General Education certification or Tutoring certification provides these services. Tutoring services are inclusive of pre-elementary through high school level academic work, college level courses, test preparation and learning new information as it relates to employment or job training.
Financial Management Services
This service is provided by a professional who is a New Jersey Certified Teacher and/or Teacher of the Handicapped, Certified Brain Injury Specialist, Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapist, or Certified Tutor. The specific skill areas addressed as well as the compensatory strategies devised and used are tailored to each individual’s needs.
GED Prep
GED Prep classes are taught by an NJ Certified teacher. Preparation for every section of the GED Test is available. Our teachers are able to serve as the test proctor as well.
Individual Effective Communication Class
A professional trained and certified in the field of special education, speech pathology, psychology and/or social work will provide opportunities to acquire and enhance social skills development and improve communication in a one-on-one setting. The focus of lessons will be individually tailored to the client’s specific needs and level of functioning.
Music
We offer introductory music classes in which clients will engage in multi-sensory exercises aimed at exploring various aspects of music including tempo, dynamics, rhythmic beats and dictation. Clients who pursue their passion for music will engage in classes using voice, percussion and keyboards.
Neuropsychology
Neuropsychological evaluation services are provided across the lifespan, from pediatrics through geriatrics. Evaluations can assist with diagnoses, differentiate between diagnoses, develop treatment plans or establish baseline functioning.
Robotics
We have initiated the beginning of a STEAM curriculum using LEGO Educational Robotic sets. Beginner classes will introduce clients to the world of computers, coding and robots.
With access to hundreds of hands-on imaginative learning activities, clients will create robots and bring them to life using basic computer coding.
Therapeutic Yoga
These classes will be taught by instructors who are certified in yoga and have
gone on to earn certification in the therapeutic discipline. Our instructors may also possess licenses in Occupational Therapy and/or Teacher of the Handicapped. Demonstrations will be given to the class and assistance will be provided to each student individually as yoga is unique to each individual.
Theater
Our theater and acting classes are provided on an individual and group basis. Theater is a creative and interactive way to implement our effective communication curriculum. Through the use of music, movement and drama, clients will increase their understanding and engagement in reciprocity, to and from communication, empathetic responding, assertive language, nonverbal communication, as well as spontaneity and flexibility with in-promptu opportunities.
Videography/Photography
This service is provided by a clinician with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, Videography or an educational background that supports teaching this specialization. The basic concepts of digital photography and videography are introduced and reinforced through individualized plans catering to each clients special needs and interests.
Wellness
This service is provided by NJ Certified Teachers with an interest in health and wellness, and or instructors with certification in the health and wellness industry. Classes are tailored to each individual's needs, ability level and interests.
